At first glance, the Dyson Pure Hot+Cool resembles the Dyson Pure Cool, a fan with air purifying capabilities. However, the Pure Hot+Cool takes it a step further by incorporating a heater function. This unit comes in three sizes and various colors. For this review, we'll focus on the mid-sized White/Silver model, standing just over 30 inches tall.
The upper part of the device features an open oval design, allowing air to flow out through a groove around the front edge. Additionally, the air can be directed out the backside, providing air purification without cooling or heating the room. It's important to note that the Dyson Pure Hot+Cool is a fan that circulates the air and does not cool it like an air conditioner.
The base of the HP04 contains the motors, air purifier filtration system, a circular display, and a power button. The unit comes with four filters - two inner activated carbon filters and two outer HEPA filters. These filters work together to capture ultrafine particles, allergens, volatile organic compounds, and even mold spores, making it ideal for allergy sufferers, pet owners, and homes with dust, smoke, and pollen.

Using the Dyson Pure Hot+Cool HP04
Using and controlling the HP04 is a breeze (except for the heater control limitation). During testing, the unit was placed in a basement with a constant temperature of around 67 degrees Fahrenheit. The device replaced an IR heater and an Airdog X5 air purifier. The goal was to assess whether the Dyson HP04 could perform the tasks of two separate devices.
If you watch the included video clip, you'll notice the HP04's excellent oscillation feature. Unlike other devices, the HP04 can rotate up to 350 degrees, and the remote allows you to choose the desired oscillation angle. This feature ensures efficient distribution of warm or cool air throughout the room.
I particularly appreciated the auto feature, which automatically adjusts the fan speed or activates the heater to maintain the desired room temperature. Even on medium settings, the fan noise was tolerable, and on lower settings, it was barely noticeable. Additionally, the night feature runs the fan at the lowest setting and dims the display, allowing for uninterrupted sleep.
