Now that we have all the materials and dimensions sorted, let's jump into the construction process.

Step 1: Building the Bed Base

Start by attaching the (76") 1x6 to the two (8") 2x4s using a Kreg Jig K4 Pocket Hole System. Don't forget to use wood glue and 2 1/2" Pocket Hole Screws for a sturdy connection. Repeat this step for the other side of the Kids Teepee Bed.

Step 2: Connecting the Bed Sides

Attach the two teepee bed sides together by using a Kreg Jig K4 Pocket Hole System and 1 1/2" setting. Secure them with 2 1/2" Pocket Hole Screws and wood glue. Repeat this step for the other side of the Kids Teepee Bed.

Step 3: Adding the Outer Supports

Attach the (74") 2x2 to the outer sides of the kids teepee bed. You can use a brad nailer and brad nails or wood screws for this step. Ensure that the 2x2 is flush with the bottom of the 1x6 stretcher. Repeat this step for the other side of the teepee bed frame.

Step 4: Securing the Bed Stretchers

Attach the 11 (39 1/2") 1x4 bed stretchers to the assembled bed frame using a brad nailer and brad nails. Remember to maintain a 3.75" spacing between each stretcher for optimal support.

Step 5: Building the Teepee Frame

Assemble the teepee portion of the bed by attaching the (57 7/16") 1x4 to the (72") 1x4 using a Kreg Jig K4 Pocket Hole System and a 3/4" setting. Use 1 1/4" Pocket Hole Screws and wood glue for a secure connection. Then, attach the (14 9/16") 1x4 to the assembled teepee frame. Remember to cut the outside end of the 1x4s at 20 degrees and the inside at 50 degrees.

Step 6: Attaching the Stretcher

Attach the 1x4 stretcher to the two assembled teepee frames using a Kreg Jig K4 Pocket Hole System and a 3/4" setting. Secure it with 1 1/4" Pocket Hole Screws and wood glue.

Step 7: Final Touches

Fill all visible pocket holes with wood filler for a clean and polished look. For a helpful technique on how to easily fill pocket holes, check out our guide here.

And there you have it! Your dreamy DIY Kids Teepee Bed is complete. The simplicity of this build, combined with the natural wood finish and black tips, creates a truly enchanting piece for your child's room.
