When I first told my daughter about the princess canopy, her eyes lit up with excitement. Who wouldn't want to sleep under a princess's magical canopy? I started searching for tutorials and came across an amazingly simple one from Craftaholics Anonymous. No sewing required, and it comes together in just minutes!
How to Create Your Princess Canopy
Making a princess canopy is easier than you might think. Here's what you'll need:
- 2 white sheer curtains, 60" x 84" - perfect for a twin bed
- 14-inch embroidery hoop
- White twine
- Screw hook
First, center the bed on the wall and mark the ceiling's center. This way, the canopy will hang just right above the head of the bed. Next, tie four pieces of white twine to the inner hoop, spaced evenly apart. The length of the twine will depend on the ceiling height and how you want the canopy to hang.

Then, tie the pieces of twine together at the top, adjusting them as necessary to ensure the hoop hangs straight. Create a loop with all four strings at the top to hang the canopy from the ceiling.
After that, thread the curtains onto the outer hoop, spacing them out for a pretty ruffle effect. Keep the opening between the two curtains towards the front, opposite the screw on the hoop.

Finally, place the inner hoop into the outer hoop and tighten it. Screw the hook into the ceiling at the desired spot, then hang up the canopy.
