The Unexpected Discovery
When purchasing the Hemnes shoe cabinet at Ikea, we stumbled upon a gray version of the cabinet. This discovery was a game-changer as it saved us from having to paint the cabinet ourselves. It was a pleasant surprise that made the project much more enjoyable.

Elevating the Cabinet
One challenge we faced was the tall baseboards in our home. We needed to find a way to raise the cabinet to accommodate them. After searching online for ideas, we decided to attach couch legs to the bottom of the cabinet. We found custom-sized wood blocks on Etsy and painted them with Rub 'n Buff in Gold Leaf for a touch of elegance. With the wood blocks securely attached, the cabinet was ready to be mounted to the wall.

No entryway is complete without a mirror. After an exhaustive search, we found the perfect round mirror with a gold frame at Target. It complements the cabinet beautifully and adds a touch of elegance to the space.
